Week 2 began with an excellent presentation from Don Smith. The presentation was so interesting that I failed to take a picture. Sorry.

Biographical interlude (thanks LinkedIn):
Mr. Smith has more than 30 years experience in the master planning, design and implementation of new towns, communities, and entertainment oriented resorts. Mr. Smith has the opportunity to work with unique clients like The Rancho Mission Viejo, The Irvine Ranch, Walt Disney Company, and Universal Studios in the creation of master plans for their communities and entertainment resorts.
In addition to Mr. Smith's professional project work he has been responsible for the management of the Western Region for EDAW. In this capacity he managed a staff of 500 professionals to achieve a $ 90 million annual revenue.

After a mid-morning break to clear our heads the work began again to come up with the information for the "buckets" of ideas that pertain to what we are working on. These, in turn, should lead us to "big" ideas that can be turned into emotional storytelling and 3 great presentations. While the students work the professors strategize and encourage the students when necessary.

The class worked hard and Monday ended with each new group have 3 concrete ideas to polish tomorrow so that an calculated decision can be made as to what will make the best presentations.
