Happy July 4th!
In spite of the holiday, the work had to continue. We have only 5 weeks to complete our project. Our British client, who has graciously agreed to work with us, does not celebrate our independence day.
The freeways were empty on the way to campus. The university was very quiet. The doors to the building were locked to all but the professors. Professor Shalat brought his Ukulele to "liven'" things up and themed snacks were provided to help moral.
That said, if we could get our presentations far enough along, maybe, just maybe we could break early. The students worked diligently refining and preparing another round of presentations. One student nervously got ready to confront her fear of public speaking. The narrative was honed, design elements were created, and layouts were refined. The first round or presentations went well exposing areas that needed further attention and helping to focus the next round of revisions. The final round of presentations were better still and revealed that indeed we were in a good enough place to stop for the day and go celebrate freedom and this national holiday.
