Thursday started at 9am with the three teams working in various places in the hotel. Our arrangement with our "home base" here in London is that we can use conference rooms when they are available at no charge. This keeps the cost of the course significantly lower. However on some days we have to resort to other areas. Today was one of those days. The students were trying to get their "big" idea to link up with all their research and a compelling narrative to deliver both. There were steps forward and steps back as the students took their time to get it right.
We broke for lunch at 12 and more students visited the alley (pictured) with all the food vendors.
We worked for another hour after lunch and then left the hotel to go site see down by the Tower Bridge and Shad Thames. Everyone seemed to have fun.
The weather was lovely, warm, but not hot. I can't speak for the other students but my digital device recorded that I travelled 7 miles yesterday on foot, took 15,500 steps, and climbed 12 flights of stairs.
Tomorrow rain is in the forecast and President Trump will be visiting the London. American travelers have been warned to not go out in groups and to stay away from central London. We are going to work in the London Wall conference room in the hotel tomorrow and avoid both the weather and any unrest.
